Hans J. Wegner

Hans J. Wegner (Tønder, 1914 - Copenaghen, 2007) was one of the greatest Danish designers and a key figure in the Scandinavian design movement.
He is known for his ability to combine aesthetics and functionality in an innovative way and he is considered one of the leading pioneers of modern furniture design.
His furniture features elegant and functional design.
Wegner created over 500 chair designs, believing that the chair was the most important piece of furniture to design.
His works continue to be produced by Carl Hansen & Søn and other companies and are appreciated worldwide for their craftsmanship and timeless design.
