Traccia Side Table
Meret Oppenheim, 1980s

Traccia side table with a structure in polished cast bronze and an elliptical top in plywood, finished with fine yellow gold leaf.
The Traccia table was originally designed by Meret Oppenheim in 1939 for a Surrealist exhibition on avant-garde furniture, held in Paris and organized by René Drouin and Leo Castelli.
In 1971, it was produced by Dino Gavina, who launched in the same period what he called functional artwork, inaugurating a new approach to furnishing where surreal objects were adapted for everyday use.
